Kevin Hellions WWE Money in the Bank 2012 Predictions.

Part of the Solace Winter once a month she goes all crazy putting together these lists and numbers and has to keep tally of them all and its really a pain in the ass but also lots of fun too WWE PPV Predictions circle!

Only 5 matches have been announced, which is a bit weird.  We could always see Ryback, Heath Slater vs a legend, or a Divas match added at the last minute.  But its Saturday already, so most likely none of that will end up in the prediction pool.

If you want to follow Solace and maybe be a part of this next time, drop here a line and read her blog (which you’ll notice has a lot of the same posts we have here.  That’s right, we cool).

I’ll run through the matches, my picks, and my reasons here.  Then at the end I’ll have a quick easy bullet points of what you just read.  For those of you who like to skim articles and so Solace gets an easy copy/paste.

Alright, lets grab them ‘cases!

Kofi Kingston & R-Truth vs. Hunico & Camacho

Do the tag titles mean anything this week?  I forget.  Kofi and Truth won them and it looked like something would be happening.   Then, nothing.  The Prime Time Players should have won them by now, just to get them over.  As good as Hunico and Camacho can be they’ve been given nothing for fans to latch onto.  Oh they come out on a bike kindof but not a bike thing!  Where can I buy action figures and t-shirts of that?!  Actually, an action figure set with the bike would be bad ass.  All of this is a round about way to say the champs retain.  I’ll guess Kofi pins Camacho.  Titles should be put on guys to build them up to stars, or to make money off of the guy (merchandise or a good heel that people will pay to see in the hopes he is defeated).  Neither of which applies to Hunico and Camacho.  By the way, shouldn’t both of these teams have a team name by now?

Smackdown Money in the Bank

(Damien Sandow, Tyson Kidd, Christian, Santino Marella, Tensai, Cody Rhodes, Dolph Ziggler, Sin Cara)

What direction do they want to go?  With the Raw match being all former world champions this match should be about building the next big star.  That’s what Money in the Bank should always be about.  Giving a guy a chance.  Here’s the case, now lets see what you can do with it.  With that in mind, who needs this win the most?  Who can be taken out of contention right now?  Damien is too new and if he is as good as some think he is, he’ll get plenty of chances.  Too soon though.  Christian has won the World title a couple times already and doesn’t need this.  As fun as it is to think of Santino as a World champion it sounds like a horrible idea for MITB.  If he wins it by fluke on Raw and loses on Smackdown or something, fine.  But don’t tie up the MITB case with him.  Sin Cara as a gimmick should be abandoned.  Its not working.  For anyone.  However I understand having Sin Cara in the match as the crazy bump guy.  In the same lineage as Shelton Benjamin or Kofi Kingston or….

Now here is where things get interesting.  Tyson Kidd.  Great wrestler.  Good promos.  Baby face.  Talented, respected, and in need of that one thing that pushes him over.  MITB could be that one thing.  Same with Tensai really.  He should be the biggest heel on the show by now, but something isn’t clicking.  But why spend the time and money and hours on WWE programming figuring out how to make these guys work AND tying up the briefcase to one of them?  You don’t, that possibly kills two things – the character and the case.

We’re down to Dolph Ziggler and Cody Rhodes.  Both guys should be World champions.  Both most likely will have it at some point.  But who gets it now?  Its time to pull the trigger on Dolph.  If Cody doesn’t win on Sunday, he’ll still be fine.  He will get there eventually.  But if Dolph doesn’t get the briefcase he runs the risk of being the guy who cant get it done.  He has been hovering just below main event level for too long now.  The fans already accept him as a World champion.  Anytime he has had a match against a current World or WWE champion and gets a two count the fans gasp.  They expect this to happen.  Its time for it to happen.

Tie-breaker 1: Who takes the last blow before the winner gets the briefcase?

Santino.  He will come so close, the fans will be on their feet, and Dolph will steal it right out from under him.

Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio

If we’re going with Dolph Ziggler winning the briefcase then its much more interesting for him to battle a face for that title.  Also, Del Rio just isn’t working out.  I don’t know anyone who is excited to see him.  Yes, heels should be hated but they should be also feared and respected.  I don’t see that with ADR.  Sheamus retains and we already know he can put on a good match with Ziggler, whenever that may be.

CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan

Man this is tough.  If it wasn’t for AJ I would predict Punk to retain the title.  Internet rumors have repeatedly said that Daniel Bryan is considered for a run multiple times.  But AJ.  I think she’s going to screw over everyone and screw up everything.  No winner.  Both men go through a table.  Or Kane comes out and choke slams both guys.  Hell maybe AJ even pins one of the guys and counts herself the winner.  Either way, this match will be a No Contest.

UPDATE: WWE has now made this a No DQ match, thus screwing up my prediction.  Damn.  SummerSlam is next month.  So if I’m right, Cena wins MITB and gets a shot against one of these two guys (well depending on when he cashes in).  Cena vs Punk for year two would be interesting.  Cena against Bryan could be good too.  Both possible stories make a lot of sense and have many places they can go.  Hmmmm….. So tough.  Oh!  I got it!  Daniel Bryan wins.  Through treachery and deceit.  Maybe AJ even helps.  He celebrates and Cena immediately runs down and cashes in.  Bryan loses in… 18 seconds.

Raw Money in the Bank

(John Cena, Kane, Chris Jericho, Big Show)

Damn.  Wouldn’t it be cool if Kane won and then became the first man to cash in the same night twice in a row?  AJ brings him out and, assuming I’m right about the craziness and the no contest, he pins Punk for the belt.  That would be nuts.  However, Kane as champion going into SummerSlam doesn’t sound right.  Remember that the word “money” is the first word for this PPV.  The only money match I see as an outcome here is CM Punk against John Cena at SummerSlam.  John Cena wins the ‘case and he better bleed too!
