Earlier today I was involved in an epic Twitter thread about the past, present, and future of geek blogging. Within the conversation, one blogger said a long running site was like the Beatles. The originator, the influencer.

Many of the other writers claimed various other musical acts. From complimentary to self deprecating. From The Rolling Stones to the Pipettes.

This has me wondering who I would be in this analogy. A musician that digs up the obscure. Who loves the ridiculous. Comic books and wrestling, cheesy pop culture and scary personas.

I think that makes me Rob Zombie in this analogy. Scary on the outside. Very tough to explain. But underneath it all just a normal guy who wants to chill with his collections by day then dig through the ditches and burn through the witches by night.
