According to this poster it looks like tonight we will see: Bray vs. Braun, Sasha vs Apollo, and Asuka vs. Drew.

 

Ugh.

I honestly don’t know when I’ve been less excited for a PPV. This is a one two hit of wrestling without fans isn’t the same and WWE isn’t giving us quality stories. A few have potential but so many are bad right now. Karaoke.

Anyways, there’s a show tonight. Sub titled “Horror Show” for some matches with cinematic editing. Or so we all suspect. The pre show starts at 6 and the live show at 7 with a good chance it’s over by 10. Maybe 930.

Drew McIntyre (Raw champion) vs. Dolph Ziggler with a stipulation to be announced by Dolph right before the match.

Drew has been one of the highlights of no fan era wrestling. He’s working his best, trying hard, and looks like a champion. Hopefully he gets a run on top whenever fans are allowed again. I don’t see anyone else willing or able to carry the show right now.

Winner: Drew McIntyre.

Asuka (Raw women’s champion) vs. Sasha Banks.

We’re all still expecting Sasha vs. Bayley at some point. A split around SummerSlam would make a lot of sense. I’m thinking Asuka wins here. Either Sasha is on her own and upset Bayley didn’t help, or Bayley does help but it backfires causing the loss. Also, Bayley turning on Sasha would be a fresher way to start this feud.

Winner: Asuka.

Bayley (Smackdown women’s champion) vs. Nikki Cross.

Nothing against Nikki, but she’s not winning the title here. Again, Sasha will probably help Bayley win thus justifying a reason for her to be upset when Sasha loses her match.

Winner: Bayley.

Braun Strowman (Smackdown champion) vs. Bray Wyatt in a Swamp Fight.

This will be a cinematic match. It’s not for the title. It’s Bray, not the Fiend. All of this screams set up for next month. Bray wins and earns a title shot at SummerSlam.

Winner: Bray Wyatt.

Rey Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins in an Eye for an Eye match.

At least the finish of this match will be cinematic. Some bad CGI gore effect. Something to earn the title “Horror Show”. Something for us to mock for years. I think Rey losing an eye makes the most sense because his mask could cover the “injury”. He could still wrestle while pretending to only have one good eye. He could have a Deathstroke inspired mask.

Winner: Seth Rollins.

Apollo Crews (US champion) vs. MVP.

This entire story line says MVP wins. The new US title design. He’s starting his own faction of guys. He could be a champion leading others to their own titles. Even Apollo could turn and join with the guy that beat him in order to better himself.

Winner and new US champion: MVP.

The New Day (Big E and Kofi Kingston) (Smackdown tag team champions) vs. Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura.

I love the New Day but do they need titles anymore? Plus, Cesaro and Nakamura are only together because they were in a group with Sami Zayn who is now home until a post Covid world. I think Cesaro and Nakamura are given a title reign at least a little as a dig at Sami who was stripped of his Intercontinental title.

Winners and new tag team champions: Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura.
