There’s another show tonight? I haven’t even finished decorating for Christmas yet. Where does the time go now that so many of us are at home avoiding other people?

But you can’t avoid other people when you’re put inside the cage! There are two WarGames matches tonight plus some other matches featuring the NXT talent. As usual, I try to predict who will win and why. I did pretty well for the last WWE PPV. Lets see if I keep above a 50% average with tonight’s guesses.

Timothy Thatcher vs. Tommaso Ciampa.

I just don’t care about Thatcher. I love Ciampa but I think NXT is using him to make guys better, not as his own rising star. Thatcher will win to continue his build up. I’m expecting Ciampa to return to his heel form next year.

Winner: Thatcher.

Dexter Lumis vs. Cameron Grimes in a Strap Match.

A Strap match? With these two? I see Dexter dominating and Grimes doing the sneaky hit each turnbuckle behind Lumis’s back spot. It also wouldn’t shock me if these two end up with some sort of respect for each other and maybe make a tag team run.

Winner: Cameron Grimes.

Leon Ruff (NXT North American champion) vs. Johnny Gargano vs. Damian Priest.

Sure, Leon will get beat up and lose the title eventually. But this story is so fun and has much more that can be done. Keeping the title on him despite the odds brings out so much personality from Gargano and Priest as well.

Winner: Ruff.

The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, Roderick Strong, and Bobby Fish) vs Pat McAfee, Pete Dunne, Danny Burch, and Oney Lorcan. WarGames match.

We all see someone from Undisputed Era turning heel tonight, right? My guess is it’s down to Adam and Kyle vs Pat. Kyle turns. Especially after his match against Finn Balor. Where’s Finn by the way? Kyle gets pushed up to NXT title level over 2021.

Winner: Pat’s group of misfits.

Team Shotzi (Shotzi Blackheart, Ember Moon, Rhea Ripley, and Io Shirai) vs. Team Candice (Candice LeRae, Dakota Kai, Raquel González, and Toni Storm). WarGames match.

My prediction for match of the night. I also think this sets up the women’s title picture for 2021. Candice pins Io, thus setting her up as a contender. Shotzi has Candice beat but someone – like Dakota or Raquel sneaking back in the ring – takes out Shotzi. Candice wins the match. She has a reason to get a shot against Io and Shotzi has reasons that she can beat Candice.
