AEW Revolution 2021 Predictions.

Another pay per view tonight, which means another round of my guesses. Every PPV I try to figure out who will win and lose not based off of personal likes, but where I think the writers are going next. I have no inside information, just decades of watching pro wrestling and seeing patterns. So let’s take a look at tonight’s All Elite Wrestling card.

Pre show match:

Thunder Rosa and Riho vs Dr Britt Baker and Rebel.

Let’s see here. Former AEW Women’s champion teams with former NWA Women’s champion who is constantly featured on AEW. They take on arguably the biggest heel in the women’s division and her sidekick. I’ll be watching the Buy In pre show for this match, I’m a big Thunder Rosa fan. But there is no doubt in my mind Rebel is taking the pin here so everyone else can keep looking strong.

Winners: Thunder Rosa and Riho.

Main show:

Casino Tag Team Battle Royal (winners get a future AEW Tag Team title shot). There are 15 teams in this battle royal. Including 3 pairings of Dark Order members. I’m thinking of who will not only make for an exciting battle royal match, but also look like they have a chance against who ever holds the belts. Part of an exciting modern day battle royal is near eliminations. Based off of athletic ability and what they’ve already shown in AEW…

Winners: Private Party.

Miro and Kip Sabian (with Penelope Ford) vs. Best Friends (Orange Cassidy and Chuck Taylor).

Big OC fan here. The only AEW figure that I have, or have any interest in. He should be in the TNT title picture. Speaking of should be. Miro jumped to AEW to be used better and he’s been in this best man gimmick from the start. He’s no where near the level he was in WWE or any where near a title picture or main event feud. If he doesn’t win here then I think he has to start looking in the mirror. I mean, his wife’s on screen ex husband is now world champion.

Winners: Miro and Kip Sabian.

“Hangman” Adam Page vs. “Big Money” Matt Hardy in a Big Money match. Winner gets all of Loser’s First Quarter earnings.

What an odd match stipulation. First quarter earnings. Who has the shadier accountant? There are ways to make it look like there are no earnings yet. Also, AEW earnings? What about indie shows? Does either man own rental properties? Who does AEW want to look stronger and who should look like the penniless fool? I see better TV ahead with Hangman looking strong and Matt having to explain to Reby Sky where all of their money went.

Winner: Adam Page.

Hikaru Shida (AEW Women’s champion) vs. Ryo Mizunami.

I watched all of the tournament that Ryo won to get this shot. And there were more entertaining, more interesting women in the tournament that I would rather see in this shot. Also, having a title on anyone from another country during constantly changing CoronaVirus times seems like a bad idea. I think this match is solely to remind viewers who Shida is, make her look strong, and make her eventual defeat matter.

Winner and still champion: Hikaru Shida.

Cody Rhodes (with Arn Anderson) vs. Scorpio Sky vs. Penta El Zero Miedo vs. Lance Archer (with Jake Roberts) vs. Max Caster vs. TBA. Ladder match for a future AEW TNT title match.

Lot of “future matches” ahead for AEW. Anyone can lose this match and still look strong. Cody and Lance both make a lot of sense. But there has been the build up on the TBA name. Will it actually be an amazing moment, or a let down? Either way I think the entire point of having the new name debut in this match is to immediately put him into a title picture.

Winner: TBA.

Team Taz (Brian Cage and Ricky Starks) (with Taz) vs. Darby Allin and Sting.

No way Sting loses. Just not happening. Darby will wrestle the majority of the match. Sting will save the day with five moves tops.

Winners: Darby Allin and Sting.

The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) (c) vs. The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho and MJF) (with Wardlow).

Jericho and MJF as champions is flat out the better story. The entire spring could be them celebrating tainted wins. Tease dissension. Work a returning Sammy into the angle. An eventual break up after losing the tag titles and maybe turning Jericho face. There’s so much more to work with there instead of keeping the belts on the Bucks.

Winners: The Inner Circle.

Kenny Omega (AEW World champion) (with Don Callis) vs. Jon Moxley in an Exploding Barbed Wire match.

This match is the main reason I’m watching the show. I am way too curious how this will look, how they will pull it off, and how violent it will be. But, that match is only for tonight. Next week, next month, and so on AEW still has the Impact angle, whatever is going on with NWA, and more partnerships. Kenny as champion appearing on these shows makes more sense. Why would Mox show up on Impact with the title? There’s no reason.

Winner and still champion: Kenny Omega.

I’ll be sitting down at 730 tonight for the pre show. Let me know who you think will win.
