AEW Revolution 2022 Predictions.
Tonight’s PPV is huge, honestly the best looking card of the year so far and I think a contender at year’s end. There are a ton of matches tonight, and I already predicted the pre-show. Now let’s look at the stacked main show and see who I think will win. Not who I want to win, but who I think will win based on where I’m guessing AEW is taking their storylines next.
Jade Cargill (TBS champion) vs. Tay Conti.
This will be Jade’s most competitive match to date, because Tay can bring it. But no way does Jade lose yet. She’s being built up to be too big of a star and I honestly wouldn’t be shocked if she had 100 victories before a loss.
AHFO (Andrade El Ídolo, Matt Hardy, and Isiah Kassidy) vs. Darby Allin, Sammy Guevara, and Sting in a six man tornado tag.
I mean, there’s no other way right? Andrade has looked great lately but whatever is happening next with Matt Hardy moves forward with him losing. Probably his brother comes in. Probably they fight against Andrade and a teammate of his choice, maybe Swerve or someone else debuting in the company.
Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus) (AEW tag team champions) vs. reDRagon (Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly) vs. The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson).
It’s going to surprise people, but I think Jurassic Express keeps the titles here. reDRagon vs the Bucks is a feud that could and should continue. It is also a feud that doesn’t need the tag team titles to be a part of it. The two other teams are too concerned with fighting each other and that allows Jurassic to retain.
Jon Moxley vs. Bryan Danielson.
This could be so good. If they’re still going with the story that Bryan and Mox are going to coach younger talent (which was not mentioned lately). If that story moves forward, then Mox wins here. Bryan is willing to take a step back and let Mox lead but will then start pushing his own wants and agenda. Maybe even corrupting some of the younger talent. Now over the next few months there’s a split. Do these “kids” align with Bryan or Mox? A wrestling equivalent of Starscream plotting behind Megatron’s back. I’m picking Mox tonight and hoping this is sthe story that’s ahead.
Chris Jericho vs. Eddie Kingston.
Eddie has to win this match. He keeps losing the high profile matches in AEW and that can’t happen to someone all the time. Jericho doesn’t need a win at all. I see some interference happening in this match. Most likely Santana and Ortiz come out, Jericho thinks it’s to help him, but the turn is complete and they side themselves with Kingston by helping him to get the win.
Keith Lee vs. Orange Cassidy vs. Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Ricky Starks vs. Wardlow vs. Christian Cage in a Face of the Revolution Ladder match for a future AEW TNT Championship match.
There’s a lot of beefy guys in here that I wouldn’t usually put on a ladder. I don’t think it’s Starks, Hobbs, or Cage. Nothing against any of them, I just don’t see title shots in the immediate future. Probably not OC, although they really have to give him a shot at some point. Keith Lee is possible but AEW doesn’t usually give incoming talent the immediate title shots. Now Wardlow would make a lot of sense. Him getting a title shot would be a good addition and probably culmination to his lengthy story against MJF. I think I talked myself into it and Wardlow will win.
Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. (AEW Women’s champion) vs. Thunder Rosa.
A week ago I would have guaranteed that Thunder wins this match. There is a rumor she’s injured, so I could see the title staying on Britt just to keep it on someone healthy. Also, the St. Patrick’s Day episode of AEW is in San Antonio and would also be the one year anniversary of the Lights Out match. Now, what would be the better story? I really like either story and my deciding push is that I expect a title to change tonight and looking at my other predictions, this would be the one. Thunder is new champ and maybe a rematch in San Antonio.
CM Punk vs. MJF in a Dog Collar match.
This will be bloody, this will be crazy, this will get so much attention. This could arguably be the match of the night. Either man winning would make sense. Punk really doesn’t lose anything by losing but MJF might. However, usually the face wins and there’s no way this feud continues after a match like they’ll have tonight. I’m going to take two matches here and say Punk wins. MJF blames Wardlow for the loss – for any reason. Maybe Wardlow does something that he screws up or maybe he does nothing. MJF wants Wardlow to give up the TNT title (or the shot, but probably the title) as a way to make amends. Wardlow wins the title decisively and convincingly, and all on his own. When MJF comes to collect it will be the moment Wardlow finally turns against him.
“Hangman” Adam Page (AEW World champion) vs. Adam Cole.
I have no doubt this will be a good match but I don’t see Cole winning this title yet. Page as the undefeated killer would be interesting. He gave Danielson his first loss in AEW, and can do the same here for Cole (first official loss that is). With the influx of talent into AEW, Page could give a few other stars their first loss before he has to take one himself.
Alright, so what do you think will happen tonight? Be sure to comment on this post or on social media.
