WWE Money in the Bank 2022 Predictions

Welcome back to the near monthly post in which I try to guess what will happen at the night’s wrestling pay per view. I skipped AEW Forbidden Door because I’m not familiar enough with the Japanese talent to guess who would win those matches. However, and sometimes unfortunately, I watch too much of WWE and usually have a good idea of where their plans are going. So let’s look at the matches for tonight and guess who will win, not who I want to win.

Bianca Belair (Raw Women’s champion) vs Carmella.

This match was supposed to be Bianca against Rhea Ripley but Rhea suffered an injury. As Carmella was not the original choice that also means there’s no way the title changes here. Rhea vs Bianca will still be a fun future match for the title.

Ronda Rousey (Smackdown Women’s champion) vs Natalya.

This is a repeat of Ronda with the Raw women’s title a few years ago. She’ll go through all of her challengers, on average of one a month. I really think it will end with Ronda vs Becky probably at WrestleMania. Even if I’m wrong about that, I’m not wrong that Ronda will be keeping her title tonight.

Theory (US champion) vs Bobby Lashley.

Speaking of keeping titles. Whatever the plan is for Theory vs John Cena which is most likely coming up for SummerSlam, Theory will look stronger if he picks up more wins and keeps the United States title. Theory wins here.

The Usos (Undisputed tag team champions) vs the Street Profits.

The tease began last night on Smackdown. Kayla asked the Street Profits if there’s any friction between them. Montez Ford has looked bigger and better lately. Many fans are seeing him as a future singles champion. To do that, the team has to split up at some point. I say they argue here and lose. A rematch happens at SummerSlam. Ford turns heel at SummerSlam.

With that it looks like no title changes tonight. With a gimmick like Money in the Bank though, title changes aren’t really needed.

Lacey Evans vs Alexa Bliss vs Liv Morgan vs Raquel Rodriguez vs Asuka vs Shotzi vs Becky Lynch. Women’s Money in the Bank match.

The winner of the women’s MITB has a 100% successful cash in so there’s a good chance whoever wins here will be a future champion. The winner has up to one year to cash in yet recent winners have cashed in within a month. I think it’s more fun to carry the case for a while and tease multiple cash in attempts. Even carry it so long fans forget about it and then have that moment of surprise before a cash in. All of this other than the 100% cash in also goes for the men’s match. Becky losing is more interesting. Asuka just won two years ago. I don’t see Alexa put into such a spot anytime soon. Maybe, just maybe, WWE will listen to fans because there is a huge segment of the fan base wanting Liv to finally get her moment. It has been teased over and over but she never gets that one big win. Liv carrying the case would be a great way to finally put that title on her, even for those who might think she’s not at that level.

Seth Rollins vs Drew McIntyre vs Sheamus vs Omos vs Sami Zayn vs Riddle vs Madcap Moss.

I thought this would be Riddle’s match but he already had his showing against Roman Reigns, the WWE undisputed champion. Moss is too new. Seth, Drew, and Sheamus have been there. Omos is too green and they have to see that enough to not put a title on him yet. Sami Zayn as an honorary member of the Bloodline is a good story that could become great with him holding the MITB briefcase. Sami at first keeping Roman safe but eventually standing up to the Bloodline. The face turn pop will be huge and could carry any upcoming major PPV.

So who do you think will win? Be sure to comment. I’ll be busy tonight but will be watching the replay tomorrow.
